flew to nyc to celebrate jen’s bday for the weekend. 

dinner: soto 

-seaweed salad, uni cocktail, uni tempura, geoduck clam salad, dobin mushi soup, live fluke usuzukuri, uni ika kelp roll, uni ika sugomori zukuri, chyutoro tar tare, fried soft shell crab, uni with lotus root, broiled langoustine.

breakfast: pomme frites

lunch: pearl oyster bar

-dz raw oysters, dz raw clams, lobster roll, fried oyster roll

saw a good friend who graciously hosted us when we were stuck by 9/11.  great seeing abe. 

shopping around soho.  love uniqlo.

snack: momofuku milkbar

–crack pie, brownie pie, cinnamon bun pie, composite cookie, cereal milk, strawberry milk

crack pie...i think it really is made with crack.  i LOVE it!!!!!

baked by Melissa – mini cupcakes: red velvet, cookie dough, cookies & cream, smores, peanut butter & jelly, peanut butter chocolate

dinner:  bar pitti

–eggplant, tuna salad, mussels, bread salad, caprese-like salad, steak and arugula, rigatoni pitti

"big" – watched the movie big, starring tom hanks  =)

brunch:  little owl

–french toast with poached pears and strawberries, meatball sliders, bacon cheeseburger, poached eggs

snack:  red velvet.  can’t remember the name of the bakery

heavy nap – funny, cuz all of us passed out on this rainy day, except for jen.  so naturally, she took photos

dinner:  sushi yasuda – yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum!!!!

menu: toro, hiramasa, shimaaji, kinmedai, gensaba, white king salmon, sea scallop, new zealand king salmon, shrimp, tazmanian trout, giant clam himo, peace passage oyster, shirayaki, anago, maguro, uni, ikura, menegi (scallion sprouts), toro roll, abalone.  this is where i stopped.  tim and harry kept going.  

here's just a morsel of what we ate...

dessert:  kyotofu

-black sesame tofu, sweet tofu, jasmine tea tiramisu, chocolate cake, passionfruit cheesecake, greentea ice cream

"drag me to hell" – watch this horror flick at the ghetto theater (aka streamlining from the internet and watching it off a laptop) Haa….

brunch:  prune

–monte cristo, fried oyster omelets, steak & eggs, huevos rancheros

snack:  kee’s chocolates

–green tea, schewan spicy, hazelnut, pine nut, dark, ??

finally make it back home after sitting on the runaway to wait out the weather.  i watched three movies during the flight: taken, 12 rounds, new in town.  i chose such horrible movies.  except i loved taken cuz i heart liam neeson.

5.1.09 valentinos

justin came into town for business and had a chance to catch up with him during the week.  hersh completed a grueling exam.  so, we had to celebrate! 

ate at valentinos.  food was pretty good.  i really really liked my gnocchi and lana's fusilli with meat sauce (no pic). 

after running around all day with errands, we enjoyed a nice evening in and watched the fight.  i was so excited to see a much hyped up match and started to get into it when i accidentially blinked.  missed the fight.  j/k.  it was over in 1.5 rounds.  crazy knock out.  thoroughly enjoyed my first boxing match since tyson bite off holyfield's ear.    good times.

12.5-6.2008 solvang – lana’s birthday

 had a blast in solvang for some r&r to celebrate lana’s big 3-0. our hotel was the bomb!

12.14.2008 x-mas dinner

 had our annual christmas dinner. boy oh boy, the food was delicious!!!

 had dinner with my old riverside posse before jeff moved to washington dc.  boo.

 the girls surprised me by taking me to the happiest place on earth and coordinated a scavenger hunt too!  it was such an awesome day.

 had dinner at the grill and watched RENT.

 got together for yum yum food and company before jen moved to atlanta.  boo!

 got tickets for my birthday to the dodger game. 

4.4&17.2009 mac&cheese, Disneyland – brooke’s birthday

 had a mac & cheese challenge for brooke.  i feel mine was the best!  =D
